5 simple ways to decorate your condo on a budget

Decorating a home may seem difficult and expensive, but it does not have to be. In fact, for just a few dollars – or for none at all – you can make your condo look fresh and brand new.

Here are 5 simple ways to decorate your condo on a budget:

  1. Get rid of clutter

Before you start worrying about your budget, you should first think about the things that you do not need. Old and damaged items can take up a lot of your limited space and do your condo a disservice. Get rid of the clutter and only keep what you need. Think of storage solutions for books, cookware, personal collections, and materials for your crafts projects so they don’t just lie around in disarray. Carefully curate your décor so it doesn’t overwhelm. If you do not want to throw way stuff, sell them online or donate them to a local charity.

  2. Give your condo a new paint job

One of the simplest ways to spruce up your condo is to give it a new paint job. If you’re selling your condo, choose neutrals – they brighten up a room and make it look bigger. Neutrals also appeal to most buyers. For your living room, go for colors like white, gray, and beige that can easily blend with most surroundings and create a cozy mood.

Otherwise, choose any color that sparks your joy. Keep in mind, however, that darker colors absorb light and make a room look smaller. If you want something trendy, dare to paint an accent wall in “living coral,” Pantone’s color of the year, which is a vibrant orange-pink.

  3. Rearrange your furniture

Sometimes, it’s enough to move the furniture around. A fresh configuration can do wonders to a room. When you rearrange the layout of any room, prioritize function over form, especially in a condo, which has limited space. To make more room, get rid of one too many chairs and tables. ,

  4. Improve lighting

Brightening up your condo can immediately make it look warmer and more inviting. Begin by replacing dark and heavy drapes with sheer or translucent window treatments to allow natural light into your unit. Decals are also an option.

Replace outdated lights with more modern and cost-effective ones. Swap old table lamps with newer ones. Hang a mirror to reflect light sources..

  5. Add house plants

Add a little green to your condo by decorating it with house plants. This is also one of the easiest and most inexpensive ways to make your condo homier. For stress-free maintenance, choose plants that can survive indoors. Cacti, succulents, and bonsai trees are popular choices. Place them in nice-looking pots or bowls. If your kitchen has a window, consider potted herbs.

You will also want to think about putting house plants on a desk, bedroom or bathroom corners, or a side table. Remember to water them and to give them sunshine regularly.
